Free Workshops Schedule 

We have an exciting line up of free workshops for Spring of 2024. No sign up required. Classes will be held in one of our greenhouses in the event of rain. Bring a folding chair if you prefer to sit.

March 8th, 2024 at 2 PM- Pruning

Hall County Extension Agent, Garrett Hibbs, will teach the do's and don'ts of pruning shrubs and trees. Take the guess work out of how and when to prune! Garrett is also our expert on diagnosing insect and disease problems in the landscape and will cover this topic as well.                                                                                                                       Click here for Handout       

March 19th, 2024 at 2 PM- Preserving Food From The Garden

Susie Burton, UGA Extension Agent, will teach the how-to's of canning, freezing and drying of foods, as well as making jams and jellies and pickled foods.  

                      

March 30th, 2024 at 1 PM- Garden of Eatin'

Josh Presley, owner of Collar'd Fine Foods and host of the Homegrown Radio Show, has extensive knowledge and experience growing fruits and vegetables. Come learn from a pro how to grow more of your own food.                                                                                

April 2nd, 2024 at 2 PM- Pollinator Gardening

Cindy is our resident annual and perennial expert and has a knack for putting together beautiful combos. She will cover plants for foraging butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Whether in pots or the flowerbed, you can attract pollinators and make it beautiful. 

Doc Bill has had a death in the family, class is postponed to later date. April 13th, 2024 at 1 PM- Cooking With Your Own Fruits and Vegetables

Doc Bill is known for his love of food. But he also has a love for growing food, farming, fishing, studying the history of food and of course, cooking. Doc Bill's classes are always very popular, come ready to be inspired!

March 15th, 2024 at 2 PM- Deer Resistant Gardening

Always a popular class! Mary is our resident deer gardening expert, she has had to learn what they will and won't eat at her Sautee, Ga neighborhood where deer roam the streets without fear. There ARE plants that are very deer resistant so come learn what to plant!                                                                     

April 19th, 2024 at 2 PM- Garden Like a Pro

Kellie Bowen of Full Bloom Nursery and host of the Homegrown Radio Show will teach the tips and tricks that pros use. Proper fertilizing, building healthy soil, sustainable gardening, organic practices, planting at the right time, etc will all be covered.                                                                                                                   

March 29th, 2024 at 2 PM- The Perennial Garden

Shane Harper, grounds manager of Truitt McConnell University in Cleveland Ga, has a passion for creating stunning perennial gardens and he will teach the methods he uses to create the "wow" factor in the flowerbeds at Truitt McConnell.

April 5th, 2024 at 2 PM- Container Gardening

Julie, the 2nd generation owner of Full Bloom Nursery, has put together lots of beautiful pots here at the nursery and she will show you just how easy it is to create mixed pots with pazazz for sun and shade. 

April 12th, 2024 at 2 PM- Flowerbed Design

Katie is our creative floral designer who has done our cut flower garden classes and she will demonstrate how to create beautiful annual color beds like a pro with various textures, shapes and colors. 

April 19th, 2024 at 2 PM- Garden Like a Pro
